52.52 % candidates pass FBISE HSSC Part-I exam

ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) on Friday announced results of Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) part-I annual examination, 2011 with overall pass percentage of 52.52.

As many as 44,882 students’ submitted applications for HSSC Part-I examination, while 44,278 students appeared in exams out of whom 23,254 students were declared successful and 20,999 students failed to the examination. According to FBISE, the examination were held in May 4, 2011 and concluded on June 7, 2011.

In Science group (regular) 8,177 students appeared in exam, out of which 4,486 male students and 3,691 females students took part. Out of them 3,931 students passed the examination with the passing percentage of 48.07 percent while 4,244 were declared fail.

In Humanities group (regular) 7,829 students appeared, in which 1,363 male students and 6,466 females’ students took part, in which 4,084 students passed the examination with the passing percentage of 52.17 and 3,743 were declared fail.

In Pre-Medical group (regular) 8,695 students appeared, in which 2,129 male students and 6566 females took part, in which 5712 students passed the examination with the passing percentage of 65.69 and 2,976 were declared fail.

In Pre-Engineering group (regular) 12,167 students appeared, in which 9,308 male students and 2,859 females’ students took part, in which 7,220 students passed the examination with the passing percentage of 59.34 and 4,938 were declared fail. In other regular groups like commerce and Med. Tech, 5061 students appeared which 1,860 students passed the examination and 3,201 students were announced fail.

Similarly 2,489 private students submitted applications for HSSC Part-1 examination, which 2,349 student was appeared in examination, out of which 447 students were declared successful with the percentage of 19.03 and 1897 students fail

According to FBISE, this year 20 unfair-means cases were reported and all the cases have been decided. A judicious procedure was adopted to decide the cases and there in every effort was made to ensure the personal hearing was allowed to all concerned. The regular failed candidates are allowed to re-appear in the same along with the paper of HSSC Part II annual examination 2012, if otherwise eligible.

The FBISE had also posted the results on its official website, and students could also learn about results by sending an SMS in the format of FB< space> [roll number] to unified code of 5050.
