Hyundai i30, the second generation: first official pictures and information

Hyundai has released today the first official pictures of the second generation of the compact i30. It comes with a greatly improved design, the interior is also more attractive.

After six years after the official launch of the European market, Hyundai i30 comes with a new face and a new range of engines announces the second generation of the Korean model.

Built on the same platform that is developed his "brother" Kia Cee'd, Hyundai i30 so far stayed in the shadow of the chapter design Kia, Hyundai those preferring to attract customers with something higher average age. Well, with the second generation of the i30, Hyundai is stripped and displays a worn look young and full of dynamism, in line with recent age range of the Korean manufacturer. Line "fluidic sculpture," started with the release of ix35, he looks like a new face, the compact, brand philosophy already present on almost the entire range of Hyundai except for Santa Fe SUV and Veracruz.

Positive changes affecting the car's exterior and interior design. Thus, if the outside we are dealing with a radical stylistic change, inside the old i30 leaves a much more colorful interior, characterized by shapes and lines reminiscent of those of the compact sports Veloster.

Customers that will be targeted for Hyundai i30 will have four engines, two petrol and two diesel. The chapter comes to a 1.4 petrol 100 bhp and a 1.6 GDI 140 horsepower, while diesel fans will be able to order a 90bhp 1.4 CRDi and 1.6 CRDI 126 bhp. All four units will be coupled to a standard six-speed box, customers with an optional automatic transmission available with the six reports.

Official debut of the new i30 will be held at the Auto Show in Frankfurt, September 13, as dealers will receive the Korean model showrooms in the first half of next year. Estate version will follow in the autumn of 2012, while a three-door version - a first for the i30 range - will appear on the market in 2013.
It remains to be seen whether the design language recently adopted by more and more models from Asian producers will have results.

In fact, Hyundai has already announced that they aspire to sell at least half a million cars in Europe. Even next year. An ambitious target, considering that Asian manufacturer hopes for this year amounts to more than 400,000 units.
