Third mail warns Ahmedabad, IM mail traced to WB(DELHI BLAST)




New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) sources on Friday told CNN-IBN that the e-mail supposedly sent by the Indian Mujahideen claiming responsibility for the Delhi blast has been traced to West Bengal. However, efforts are still underway to trace the IP address of the Indian Mujahideen e-mail.
Third e-mail threatens attack in Ahmedabad
Sources have told CNN-IBN that the third e-mail related to the Delhi High Court blast has been deciphered. The name of Ahmedabad has figured in the e-mail which was sent under a numerical code, which has been deciphered. The e-mail threatens an attack in Ahmedabad. Gujarat, specifically Ahmedabad has been put on a high alert. Home Minister P Chidambaram meanwhile has advised other states to remain vigilant.
Delhi blast: All four reports contradictory
Meanwhile, Preliminary forensics report on the Delhi High Court blast that contradict each other sent to NIA. Home Ministry and NIA receive forensic report from CFSL Gandhinagar, CFSL Hyderabad, CRFSL Delhi and NSG.
Sources say all four reports contradict each other. The only commmon point between the four reports is that a Nitrate based compound was used in the Delhi blast. One report says that RDX was used others say PETN. NIA has now asked for a final reports from all the four labs.
After the HUJI e-mail originating from Kishtwar claiming responsibility, a new mail allegedly from the Indian Mujahideen emerged on Thursday taking responsibility for the blast. The Delhi Police have announced a RS 5 lakh award for anyone who can provide a lead.
The death toll from Wednesday's blast now stands at 13. Two of the 91 injured remain in a critical condition. The National investigation Agency, which is spearheading the probe into the blasts has taken five people for questioning so far.
On Thursday morning, the investigators had managed to identify a cyber-cafe in Kishtwar near Jammu from where the e-mail claiming responsibility by Harkat-ul-jehad was allegedly sent.
Its owner and 3 others were detained for questioning and though investigators say they are probing both mails, they may well be red herrings. By Thursday noon the Uttar Pradesh police detained a person in Balrampur as he allegedly resembled one of the sketches.
